Our client needed to replace parts of their external mock Tudor timbers.
To ensure we were able to accurately establish the quantity of the timbers to be replaced and to provide a fixed cost we carried out a full survey which allowed us to then provide a fully costed estimate and give the customer a secure timeframe in which to complete the works.
We provided the joinery mill with a cutting list and procurement schedule which they then delivered directly to the site.
We removed the existing decayed timbers either in part or fully, we then cut them to length and installed the new timbers by means of drilling, countersinking, and fixing them with secure masonry screws from both a mobile tower and fixed scaffolding.
“Mark Taylor and son James replaced much of the exterior wood ‘beams’ on our 1980s mock Elizabethan style house. Mark chose a good quality hardwood, liaising with the supplier to ensure a good finish and dimensions. They both worked 8 am to 4 – 5 pm every day, often despite wet February weather. Mark’s standard of workmanship was high – surfaces were maintained level and even throughout, all parts being screw fitted. His communication with us was good – via phone, email, and text. The work was completed within quoted budget and we’re very pleased with the result.”
